Hello, Daniel. Qatari mediators gave Iran a proposal to end the war.
What has Iran said about it?
Iran said it is speaking with mediators. It is reviewing proposals to end the war.
Iran's foreign minister said diplomacy still has a chance.
So, are talks still possible?
Yes. Iran says it continues to give diplomacy a chance.
However, an earlier report said Iran rejected Qatar's latest proposal.
Why did Iran reject that proposal?
Iran said the proposal had unacceptable ideas.
This war is also affecting people outside the region.

It offered some help for homes and businesses this winter.
The UK Treasury chief said families face higher fuel prices.
He also said energy bills and home loans cost more.
What happens next in the peace effort?

Thank you, Ethan.
Our second story is about US methane rules.
Sophie is LinguaWire's correspondent for environment. Sophie, tell us more.
Hello, Daniel. President Donald Trump plans to ease methane rules.
Which rules does he want to change?
The rules cover oil and gas companies.
The Biden administration completed these rules in 2024.
They aimed to reduce methane leaks.
What did President Trump say?
He called the rules expensive and unnecessary.
He said the change could help energy producers and consumers.
He gave no more details.
What is methane, and why does it matter?
Methane is the main part of natural gas.
It is a greenhouse gas. It traps heat in the air.
Over 20 years, it traps about 80 times more heat than carbon dioxide.
Methane causes about one-third of global warming.
What changes has the US environment agency planned?
The agency plans easier rules for some oil wells.
These wells produce less oil.
They produce only seven to eight percent of US natural gas.
However, research suggests they may cause about half of methane leaks.
The agency also plans to end a programme for outside groups to report leaks.
What happens next?
The administration plans to change the rules. President Trump gave no date or more details.
Thank you, Sophie.
